Imo State Commissioner for Works, Ralph Nwosu has expressed joy at the control of Egbu floods. The Commissioner while speaking to our correspondent disclosed that the present government placed priority on the control of ravaging erosion and flood menace across the state which made government facilitate the construction of tunnels around the troubled spots across the state.
The Commissioner disclosed that with the construction of tunnels from Dick-Tiger- Chukwuma Nwoha- Relief Market area, the hydra headed flood menace around Egbu and environs had now become a thing of the past.
He also spoke about the Naze-Nekede-IhiagwaObinze Road which the contract has been terminated due to non performance of the Chinese Habour Engineering Company handling the project.
He assured residents and the road users that the road will soon be rewarded to a competent contracting firm who will work according to specifications and deliver the job within the specified time frame.
