There is unease calm in Abia Newspapers and Publishing Corporation (ANPC), Umuahia following the sudden disappearance of valuable property in the State -owned newspaper.

Allegedly carted away also, is a Plasma Television set belonging to the Abia State Newspaper which with no explanation provided by the past management staff about the disappearance of the equipment.

These revelations were made by some staff of the Abia Newspapers who are calling upon the new administration of Governor Alex Otti to recover the missing equipment from the past management. According to the ANPC who did not want their names in print for the fear of victimization, the two Power Generators were taken away on two different occasions.

The 250 KVA, according to them was allegedly taken away on May 8 before the handover of Governor Alex Otti while the 300 KVA and the office Television set were also carted away two days before the inauguration of Governor Alex Otti in office.

The staff feared that the State media house may not function effectively without the recovery and re-installation of the equipment. “How can we operate without our Gen sets in this time when you don’t rely on NEPA? How can we monitor events without our TV sets? “We want Governor Otti to help us recover the equipment so that our office does not collapse”, said the staff under anonymity.

The ANPC officials also indicated the Chief Security Officer of the Newspaper House, Mr Okechukwu Ariwodo of allegedly colluding with the former management staff to carry out the alleged theft
