The verification exercise for Abia State workers in the Ministry of Information and Strategy will be carried out on Wednesday and Thursday next week. The staff auditing was earlier slated to hold from Monday to Tuesday but was shifted by the Ministry.
A release signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Charles Ifenkwe advised the workers in the Ministry to come to the Administration Department of the Ministry for the verification with photocopies of their service documents.
News Echo gathered that the auditing is in line with present administration’s determination to discover and remove ghost workers from the State’s civil service system. A staff of the Ministry of Information and Strategy who spoke on the coming verification said she was not afraid of the exercise.
She said “only workers with questionable employment records would be afraid to present their certificates.” Also, some staff of office of the Head of Service and Abia State Civil Service Commission said the verification exercise would be carried out in all government establishments in the State
