Abia State governor has directed all security agencies operating in Abia state to deal decisively with criminal elements who terrorizing the citizenry. The charge was given by the Special Adviser to Governor Alex Otti on Strategic Communication, Prince Okey Kanu.
The State government observed that criminal activities by hoodlums were on the increase in the Umuahia, Aba and some other parts of the State.
The Special Adviser who lamented that there are upsurge in criminal activities like kidnapping for ransom, phone snatching, illegal levy collection and “One Chance” robbery through the use of tricycles (Keke Napep). Kanu however warned criminals in Abia that the new Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr Ken Onwuemelie is the State to flush out undesirable elements.
“Abia state government, through this medium, is calling on our Traditional Rulers, President Generals’ of our Town Unions and Landlords to partner with the state Government to ensure a crime-free Abia within their domains.
” In line with his campaign promises, His Excellency, Dr Alex Otti is poised to create job opportunities for our teeming youth through funding for small and medium scale businesses and investment in private – sector- led investments in industries”, Okey Kanu said.
