The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Anambra state chapter on Wednesday 17th, 2025 decorated the Chief Executive Officer, PineLeaf Estate and Properties Ltd, Archbishop, Dr. Onyekachukwu Joseph Nzekwesi as the Supreme Patron of the council.

The epoch-making event which was held at the Apple Valley Hotels, Awka with the theme; “Voice for Re-evaluation of Leadership & Good Governance, The Journey So Far” also saw the inauguration of the twenty-one local government coordinators and executives.

In his opening remark, the state Chairman, Amb Survy, Obi Emeka Chukwudi lauded Archbishop Nzekwesi for his pivotal roles in the society and revealed that unique personalities was what attracted the NYCN to adopt him as the preferred supreme leader. ” he is a God fearing man, mentored a lot of him, he is a successful business man with integrity and his antecedents over the years was what prompted the council to associate with an impactful youth leader who can empower the NYCN youths.

A lot of youths are here to learn from you and tap into your experiences. We know and believe you can mentor them. Most of them have failed in the past businesses but I believe that after today’s interaction, it will go a long way to impact them and reshape them. We want you to teach them how to fish and not to give them fish, a continued interaction, mentorship, guidance and partnership will be favourable to NYCN”.

Amb Obi urged the youths to embrace credibility and shun violence, emphasizing that the youths of Anambra are educationally oriented. He warned youths to desist form of violence during the up coming November 8th guber election in the state but ensure that Ndi Anambra vote counts.

In his appreciation message, the leader of the Jesus is Alive Pentecostal Church thanked NYCN, Anambra state chapter, for finding him worthy among hundreds of philanthropists in Anambra.

“It is a call of duty and honour, I am aware that this is Anambra state where there are a lot of rich men. and philanthropists yet you found me worthy to hold this office, I appreciate that”.

“You do not buy honour but you earn it and it gets offered as a gift and I am happy to be among the youths. We are the youth and the future of the nation. I understand the mindset of being a the youth with challenges. Your mindset is the key, if whatever is right you can conceive. Whatever your mind can conceive, you can achieve. You only need to put God first and he will perfect it, he is a giver of wisdom and when you apply it success which is hard work will make you achieve a lot”.

The spiritual, called on the youths to shun rich get-rich-quick syndrome and cultism as it can never favour anyone who indulges in such acts. A “Wealth does not come from belonging to a secret society, some people were confused going into such groups and ended up with nothing. Cultism, indulging in robbery, rituals or any other ills can only lead you to painful death. But your important endeavours can, most importantly with your side, you will triumph. I am in here with the youths and will support them in any way I can. I am here for every one of you, my encounter with you will surely be acknowledged”, he assured.

In his usual kind gesture, Dr. Nzekwesi donated two brand new buses to NYCN Anambra state Chapter which he promised will be delivered to them by next week.

Meanwhile, other awardees were Capt (Barr) Casmir Chukwunonso Nwafor (RTD) Executive Chairman of Orumba North L.G.A., and Engr Alexander Chinedu Ofodili, CEO of JEFMAC OIL NIG LIMITED, Patron of NYCN Anambra West L.G.A.

Among dignitaries present were, Chief Obumneke Asuzu, Pioneer State Chairman Youth Council of Nigeria, A.S, Egbo Egbo, Man O War State, Commander, Anambra state, Comrade Frank Maduka, Former State Chairman as well as men of the Man O’ War, among others.
