The National Directorate of Employment, (NDE) has commenced the distribution of loans to some unemployed youths in Abia State.
The National Director of NDE, Mallam Nuhu Abubakar Fikpo made this known in Umuahia why flagging off the loan distribution in Abia. Mallam Fikpo, who was represented by Mrs Tessy Wachukwu, Abia State Coordinator of NDE during the event, said the loan was designed by the NDE to make the beneficiaries self reliant and future job creators. Mallam Fikpo disclosed that each of the beneficiaries who had been trained and exposed to four different skills, received N100, 000 each
He explained that the job creating programs were in line with the determination of President Mohamadu Buhari administration to reduce poverty. The NDE boss charged the beneficiaries to strictly use the N100, 000 loans for the programs they were designed for, cautioning that the loans must not be wasted on jamboree. Speaking on behalf of other beneficiaries, Mr Chimaobi Nwosu praised the NDE for exposing them to different types of skills. He assured that the loans would properly be used in starting micro businesses, adding that encouragement from the NDE would be utilized in making them self reliant and job creators.
