Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma Tuesday received the Information Minister Alhaji Lai Mohammed at the Imo Government house.

He led a federal government delegation, including Senate and House of Representatives committee chairmen on information. Also in the entourage is the Minister of State for Education Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba.
The team was on inspection tour of federal government projects in the state where they visited the newly constructed Walter Smith Oil modular refinery.

They governor expressed happiness at the visit and praised the federal government for its efforts so far in bringing development to the people. He further remarked that in the last one month the state has played host to five ministers.

He said, “the number of Ministers and federal government officials that have visited Imo in the last three to four months has shown clearly that there is nothing as good as being in the government of the national party.

“We received the minister of agriculture here, we received the minister of humanitarian services here, we received the minister of communication and digital economy. The Minister of state for education is our own, whose umbilical cord is here. And today we are hosting the spokesman of the government of Nigeria,” he concluded

He praised the federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari, who he said has done a lot, judging by the prevailing circumstances and commended the minister for the proactive approach he has been going about his duties.

Earlier in his speech, the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Muhammed said they were on a
facility tour of the Walter Smith Modular Refinery which is a joint venture project between the local content board and Walter Smith (a public private partnership project) in Imo State which he described as the first modular refinery to be completed in Nigeria and ready for commissioning.
