Soldiers from 14 Brigade of Nigerian Army, Ohafia have allegedly invaded Amangwu village in Ohafia LGA of Abia State in search of their missing colleague. During the said invasion, some indigenes of the community were alleged arrested and taken away by the soldiers while some houses were either broken into or set ablaze by the soldiers.

Some of the arrested natives, according to an Ohafia indigene, are feared dead as there are no traces of their whereabouts yet.

It was learnt that the a soldier serving in the 14 Brigade who finished observing his annual leave, allegedly got missing on his way back from his hometown in Cross River State. It was also gathered that all efforts by the Army authorities to find the missing soldier was not successful.

But last weekend, soldiers from the 14 Brigade allegedly stormed Amangwu and arrested some persons and also set some houses ablaze.

The crises forced many villagers to flee into bushes and other neighbouring villages to avoid being victims.

Governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bishop Sunday Onuoha has paid a visit to the displaced people in Ohafia.

Onuoha, who is a Bishop of Methodists Church Nigeria, lamented the terrible conditions of the Ohafia natives in the face of the crises and prayed for peace
