Indigenes of Okwuta Ibeku and Ndume Ibeku have extolled the government of Abia State for locating the new Abia State government House in their lands. The new Government House Umuahia was started by former government of Senator Theodore Orji has been completed and commissioned by government Okezie Ikpeazu before leaving office.
The indigenes like Chief Rufus Udegbu of Ndume Ibeku and Ambassador Mike Ojimba of Okwuta Ibeku who spoke to News Echo about the development, said the Government House would open the frontiers of business opportunities and would further raise the values of their lands. Apart from these, the villagers said the Government House would create employment opportunities for their sons and daughters in government offices.
They commended the governments of Theodore Orji for the vision of relocating the Government House to their land and equally thanked the government of Okezie Ikpeazu for completing it.
Meanwhile, government hospital, Aba, Ariaria international market A-Line and Aba garment factory were on Saturday commissioned by the Governor, with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and the outgoing Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as Special guests.
Also, Faulks road Aba, inland road at Umuahia Campus of Abia State University and Umuihe Cottage hospital in Isiala Ngwa South LGA were commissioned by the Governor on Sunday, after which he dissolved the Abia State Executive Council.
It was a near-tear looks on the faces of members of immediate-past Exco Council as many of them rued their exit from power.
