The Rapid Respond Squad (RRS) in Abia State has rescued two children from child trafficking syndicate who specialised in abducting children between two to three years old, using biscuits and sweet to lure them.
RRS led by its commander, SP Johnbull Obioguru rescued the children from those they were sold to in Lagos State and Port Harcourt, Rivers State, respectively.
It was gathered that Mrs. Happiness Monday, mother to Marvelous Monday of Umuochialla village in Osisioma LGA of Abia State had on 28th August, 2020, reported to RRS that her child was abducted by unknown persons.

It was also learnt that another woman, Mrs. Rejoice Ikechukwu from same community also reported to RRS same day that her own child, David Ikechukwu, aged three years was also abducted.
On Saturday, 12th December, 2020, Master Marvelous Monday was said to have been rescued from Lagos and handed over to his parents by the RRS.

The police later arrested five suspects who were said to have confessed to specialising in abducting and selling and buying of children.
The suspects are: Chinonso Slyvanus, Ekene Duru, Rose Okoro, Ngozi Ukpai and Chidi Okoro.
The source said that Ekene Okoro and Ukpai confessed to have bought the abducted kids from Sylvanus and Duru at the rate of N200,000 for each and sold them at the rate of N450,000.

Their information also led to the arrest of one Chidi Okoro who runs a clinic by name ‘Prostel Hospital’ formerly known as ‘God’s Favour Hospital and Maternity’ located at Umuode Village, in Osisioma LGA of Abia State.
The source said that Okoro, a Senior Secondary School Certificate holder has been impersonating as a medical doctor, but never had any medical training, but uses the above mentioned clinic for human trafficking purposes.

According to the source, efforts are on top gear to rescue Master David Ikechukwu to reunite him with his parents.
It was also gathered that RRS was still waiting for the parents of the other recovered child and who could not identify himself, to visit Abia State Police Headquarters or the nearest police station to identify and reclaim the child.
