A group under the aegis of Anambra State Elders and Stakeholders Forum has constituted a 13-Man Peace Committee to resolve the lingering crises between Anambra state Governor, Willie Obiano and an oil mogul, Engr. Arthur Eze.

The forum pioneered and founded by the first civilian Governor of the state, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, in a recent crucial meeting at Nimo in Njikoka Local Government Area of the State on Tuesday, described the disagreement between the governor and Prince Arthur Eze as avoidable distraction, capable of jeopardizing the development of the State and Igbo presidency project in general.

Addressing reporters after its meeting, National President of the forum and former Justice of the Supreme Court, Hon. Justice Anthony I. Iguh (CON) stated that the stakeholders would not keep quiet while eminent sons of the State engaged themselves in war of words and media battle which rub-off on the reputation and prestige of the State.

The Peace Committee which has retired Chief Justice of Anambra State, Hon. Justice G.U. Ononiba as Chairman and former Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Pita Ejiofor as Secretary was mandated to identify the immediate and remote causes of the misunderstanding and cold war between His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, Governor of Anambra State and Engr. Prince Arthur Eze on one hand and His Excellency, Dr. Chris Ngige, former Governor of Anambra State on the other hand.

Other members are Hon. Justice Paul Obidigwe, former Chief Judge of Anambra State and Hon. Justice (Prof.) P.N.C. Umeadi, former Chief Judge of Anambra State Hon. Justice O.J. Okeke, Rtd. Judge, Federal High Court; Hon Justice Paul Anigbogu, Rtd. Judge, State High Court; Hon. Justice Ngozi Umeh, Rtd. Judge, State High Court; Justice Alpha Ikpeama and Rev. Dr. Michael Obierika, County Director, Kristian Missionaries of Afrika.
The Committee is expected to deliver within 30 days.
