A new Commander, Brig. Gen. Dahiru Abumawashi has taken over as the new Commander, 14 Brigade of Nigeria Army, Ohafia, Abia State.
He replaced Brig. Gen. Muhammed Bello Wabili, the former Commander of the Brigade.
The handover event took place at the Brigade parade ground, 14 Brigade headquarters, Ohafia.
Delivering his hand over address during the change of baton, the outgoing Commander, Brig. Gen. Muhammed Bello Wabili thanked the officers and soldiers of the 14 Brigade for their support to him throughout his leadership, stressing that their support enabled him to succeed while in-charge of Ohafia.
Gen Wabili appealed to the officers and soldiers to give more support to the incoming Commander, Gen Abumawashi in the task of securing the nation, assuring that the new Commander would deliver on his mandate, judging by his track records of experience.
The handover event which was witnessed by officers and soldiers as well as the wives of the military men, also featured inspection of guard of honour by the incoming and outgoing Generals.
Before his appointment, Brig Gen Dahiru Abumawashi held several positions, including being the Director, Combat Development, Infantry Corps Centre, Jaji.
