The Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo has admonished Governor Hope Uzodimma to focus on good governance with a view to meet the needs of the people who expect goodies from him.
Speaking in Owerri on Sunday during the one year anniversary celebrations of the shared prosperity administration, Osinbajo remain resolute remarked that one of the ways to silence his political opponents is to remain resolute in championing the affairs of the state which he was entrusted with.
In his speech, Governor Hope Uzodimma said he constructed and rehabilitated many roads across Imo state, in line with his 3r mantra and a covenant he entered with God to serve Imo people.
Uzodimma who appreciated all for coming to celebrate with him, said he has restored the confidence of Imo people, reduced corruption. He promised to do more to advance the state economically and infrastructurally.
The Arch Bishop of Owerri Ecclesiastical Province, Bishop Anthony Obinna, says the bad situation of Nigeria today is worse than it was before and immediately after the civil war, regretting that things have not only fallen apart in Nigeria, they have fallen into pieces.
Obinna, during a special Eucharistic Service, marking the One Year in office of Governor Hope Uzodimma led administration, held at the Heroes Square, Owerri, on Sunday, frowned that “wickedness and evil deeds have been arrogantly promoted and defended in various quarters. Thus, bickering, attacks and counter attacks, intermediate wars have spread across Nigeria” which is on the verge of collapse.
Obinna while stressing that God loves every person, every nation who “need to redouble our commitment to God- to like light instead of the darkness”, admonished leaders to allow the light of Christ to shine in them so that they lead well and thereby harnessing peace, progress and prosperity of the society.
Frowning against security challenges and suffering in Nigeria, the Senate President AIhaji Ahmed Lawan assured the governor and APC of the support of the Senate.
He eulogized Uzodimma on good governance and wished Imo people well.
