Abia State government has described as shock the death of the deputy chief of staff to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Ukpai Agwu Ukpai.

The State government in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, it regretted that the state lost a rare gem in the person of the deputy chief of staff.

The Abia State government further consoled the family of the Asaga Ohafia- born politician, noting that his services would be missed

Late Agwu was a great political player in the government of Okezie Ikpeazu, dating back from his role towards the election of the Governor in the first and second tenures, which earned him the post of Deputy Chief of Staff back – to –back, adding that he was actively involved in the PDP campaign trains for the Bye-election in Aba North/South federal constituency recently conducted.

He noted that the news of his death which shook the socio-political foundations of Abia created a shock inside the government house.
