The Sole Administrator of Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development (ASOPADEC), Hon. Emeka Stanley has said that his administration has conducted staff verification exercise in the commission, with the aim of establishing the actual strength of workers.

This is even as regular payment of staff salaries has also been kicked off in the commission.

These efforts, he said were part of steady progress made so far from what he met on the ground few months ago. He promised his administration’s determination to guide ASOPADEC to resounding success.

Stanley made this known while interacting with journalists in Umuahia.

He explained that a committee headed by Engr Emeka Gberemuakor had already been set up to look into ways of generating more funds for ASOPADEC, in response to dwindling revenue base occasioned by nationwide economic downturn.

He further stated that under his watch, the commission donated two 300 KVA 11 transformers to Enyimba Automated Shoe Company, Ward 11 Umukalike and Amuzu Umuonyengwa Ahaba Ward 5 all in Obingwa Local Government Area, as part of the commission’s intervention activities in the areas under the commission.

Stanley said the donation was made in line with the directive of the State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu as part of his policy towards enhancing productivity and providing adequate electricity supply to the rural communites.

He reiterated the resolve of the commission at sustaining her intervention activities and putting smiles on the faces of oil producing areas and Abia in general and urged the beneficiaries of the transformers to make optimal use of them in realizing the vision of the Governor in making Abia an emerging exporter of shoes.

He expressed confidence that the goals and fortunes of oil producing areas in the State as well of the staff would be transformed before the end of his administration.

Stanley called for cooperation from staff, host communities and other stakeholders for total realisation of the agency’s plans.
