…Commends Governor Soludo of bring peace to Ndi Anambra

The youth wing of Anambra State Town Union Council (ASTUC from the 179 communites including non indegenes on Saturday, 23rd, August, 2025 embarked on a road rally to show solidarity and support to the present Government of Anambra state led by Governor Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for improving the security architecture of the state.

The Rally, News Echo reports was also to counter the previous protest march by Sir Paul Chukwuma, YPP Guber Candidate, press briefing from Dr George Moghalu of Labour Party and other politicians in the state calling for the disbandment of Agunechemba popularly known as Udo ga chi security outfit.

Speaking at the rally, His Youthfulness

Comrade Ken Okoli President General ASTUC YOUTH, disclosd that the youths and communities have the right dictate whether the state government is working or not. “What we came today is not to do campaign. But we are here to inform Ndi Anambra that Operation Udo Ga Chi is doing well in securing the state and we commend them . It is a solidarity rally in support of the state government and its security outfit, Udo Ga Chi”

You all are aware of the current humiliation meted on a female NYSC serving member by Udo Ga Chi which is a combination of all security personnels in Anambra state. We condmen the assaults and we are calling on those incharge to ensure that the 8 persons under police custody face the law”

“We also found out that our brothers in politics are calling for the disbandment of Agunechem. We would not use the fact that some few persons committed an offence not socially acceptable and disband the whole security working architecture. Those politicians protesting wants to use the opportunity to import hooligans and thugs during November 8 election to rig elections and we stand against it”.

This solidarity rally is to make our voices be heard. Udo Ga Chi should remain so that they can carry out their security operations. There is peace in Anambra currently, most of theses crimes like kidnapping and robbery have stopped. They should concentrate on what they will do for ndi Anambra and we will continue to support Governor Soludo.

Recieving the protesters, Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, represented by the Chief of Staff, Sir Ernest Ezeajughi, commended the youth for having faith and trust in the state government.

Ezeajughi frowned at the way some of the politicians in the state are calling for disbandment of a security outfit which have brought succour to the citizens while calling on them to join hands with the present Government to ensure peace continue to radiate in Anambra state.

“The Governor Soludo is doing very well especially in security. We have transformed various sectors. All the stakeholders need to join hands in tackling insecurities. Everyone must come together and support him. I call on my brothere (politicans) to mobilise other youths across the 21 Local Government Areas and 326 wards to support the government efforts. We must resist every attempt by some persons to politicise security”.

Meanwhile the Rally started from Aroma taking to some streets of Awka to the new Government House (LIGHT HOUSE) with placards of different inscriptions, with chants of solidarity song calling for support to Agunaechemba and Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s reelection, come November 8.
