The Anambra State Civic and Social Reformation Office (ANCISRO), an agency under the Office of the Governor of Anambra State, has celebrated its one year in office.

 

The Office has, within its inaugural year, recorded remarkable achievements. It has emerged as a strong advocate for cultural renewal and values reorientation among Ndi Anambra, championing civic responsibility, social consciousness, and sustainable development.

Through short films, books, lectures, street campaigns, radio jingles, podcasts, and school outreach programmes, ANCISRO has worked consistently to strengthen the relationship between the state and society, instil civic values, and inspire hope—particularly among young people.

 

Managing Director Anambra State Civic and Social Reformation Office, ANCISRO, Sir Chuka I. Nnabuife, who spoke to our Correspondent at the agency’s office, Awka during the celebration, noted that within “its first year of operation, ANCISRO has established itself as a dynamic institution driving civic and social reformation in Anambra State. By integrating cultural advocacy with modern communication strategies, it has inspired citizens—particularly young people—to embrace individual and social responsibility, discipline, and values-driven approaches to development”.

 

Describing some challenges faced by the agency, Sir Nnabuife stressed that financing have been a cumbersome job as much funds are not available to deliver more projects. Though he maintained that the agency remains committed to improving social reforms, values and morals in Ndi Anambra.

 

Among notable achievements from ANCISRO over the past one year were

 

State wide broadcast and podcast campaign on local government elections, Newspaper and social media publications in pre elction and post election issues, short films on Anambra’s infrastructural developments, publich enlightenment on burning of tyres on tarred roads

 

End of the year forum and inauguration of ANCISRO, Quarterly discourse series, Indiscriminate waste Disposal jingles broadcast, jingles on family parenting, presentation on discipline in parenting and family value reformation, presentations at Catholic Men Organisation, workshop and family engagement, a book of value for Secondary schools were completed and a Book on Governor Soludo’s Leadership – highlighting the Governor’s vision and values-driven governance, presentation at the Ihiala LGA State Constituency 2 Town Hall Forum, held at St Mary Hall, Okija, international day of the Boy Child Summit, waste management seminars, flood awareness campaigns, outreach schoo programme at Awka and Ukpo, voter registration awareness, broadcast film on encouraging participation in elections, participants at the KUKAH

Foundation/National Peace Committee/European Union Election, Lecture on NYSC Financial Inclusion, Regular Media Engagement on radios, television and online media,

 

Summarily, ANCISRO achieved, Over 1 million people reached via radio, television, and social media. More than 10,000 students engaged through school outreach programmes, Participation in over a dozen conferences and seminars across the state, Collaboration with four Anambra-based civil society organisations, Production of 20+ jingles, films, and publications shaping public behaviour.

Present the celebration were Anambra former Commissioner for Information, Mr Paul Nwosu, Veteran Victor Agusiobo, Veteran Uzoma Nzeagwu of the Guardian Newspaper, Dr Okechukwu Onuegbu – NUJ Secretary General, Anambra State Council, and other media personalities.
