The Anambra Patriots for Soludo, a socio-political group has stated its firm resolve to support president Ahmed Bola Tinubu for his second term bid as well its readiness to promoting good governance, accountability, and greater political inclusion for the South-East region in Nigeria.
The group tasked with the responsibilty of ensuring good governance and accountability also opened its new secretariat office situated at Anambra Trade Center along Emeka Anyaoku Boulevard, Awka, Anambra State.
In his remarks, the National Convener of Anambra Patriots For Soludo and Managing Director of Anambra State Bureau of Public Procurement, Chief Okey Ezeobi said that Anambra Patriots For Soludo is a progressive group mandated to support president Tinubu’s second term in office. Today also we opened our new secretariat and engage on strategies that will chart a new path in the political history of Anambra State and South East in general.
“the 326 ward coordinators and 22 zonal coordinators were invited for their first official meeting and opening of their new secretariat, and also to talk about the future of politics and governance in Nigeria, especially as it concerns the Igbo man and southeast in Nigeria”.
He emphasized that the Patriots operate independently and are not influenced by the financial interests of politicians. He further stated that the organization plans to expand its activities beyond Anambra State while continuing to educate voters and raise political awareness among the masses.
Arc Ezeobi promised to mobilize all the votes in Anambra State to massively return President Tinubu in his office due to his excellent and great works in the southeast in the areas of infrastructural amenities. He equally promised to carry out voter education in every nook and cranny of Anambra State to avoid losing votes to candidates of APC vying for legislative positions.
In his remarks, the National Chairman of Anambra Patriots, Chief Ifejiamatu Damian Elekwechi, commended members of the group for remaining steadfast even after the election season, unlike many other support groups that become inactive afterward.
He stated that his APS is in support of gender equality in politics, which made them to appoint good number of women as ward coordinators.
Elekwechi, however, called for increased participation of women in politics, stressing that women are active members of the Patriots and should be given more opportunities in leadership and political engagement.
He praised the administration of the Governor of Charles Soludo, assuring that the Patriots would continue to support the government’s policies and programmes at every level.
Contribtuting, the Special Adviser to Gov Soludo on Political Matters, Dr Alex Obiogbolu lauded the leadership of Anambra Patriots for their believe in Gov Charles Chukwuma Soludo, which made them to purchase APGA Governorship Form for his re-election.
He used the occasion to announce his intention to contest for Anambra North Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections, and solicited for their unflinching support to actualize his senatorial ambition.
Dignitaries at the occasion were His Royal Majesty, Igwe Ben Izuchukwu Emeka(Oke Ebo Umueri), Engr Marcel Ifejiofor, former Commissioner for Works, among others.
