The National Leader of the Afamation Movement, Hon. Afam Ezenwafor, has explained why the leaders and the stakeholders of the grassroots-based political group endorsed Barr. Donald Chidi Amamgbo (Okosisi Ihiala), the senatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as their preferred choice for the Anambra South Senate seat.
The Abuja based writer, Chris Onwa Mmaju who disclosed this, said Hon Ezenwafor who spoke at his country home in Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area, where the endorsement took place last week, stated that aside the fact that Barr. Amamgbo represent “a new idea and a refreshing approach to politics.” He aligns with the ideological mission statement of the movement which is “To leave the society better than we met it”
He described the ADC candidate as deeply committed to community development, noting that his numerous contributions to Ihiala were achieved without holding any public office.
“From building a church and a community civic centre to funding scholarships for students and championing youth empowerment initiatives, Barr. Donald Chidi Amamgbo has consistently demonstrated a selfless passion for the progress of his people,” Hon. Ezenwafor said.
He further emphasized that unlike many politicians who see public office as an opportunity for personal gain, Barr. Amamgbo has proven himself a man content with what God has blessed him with. According to him, Amamgbo’s quest for the Senate seat is driven purely by the desire to expand his capacity to empower more people and address the pressing challenges facing the senatorial district.
Highlighting Barr. Amamgbo’s vast experience and extensive network, Hon. Ezenwafor explained that his transition into official political representation was a “strategic move to deliver outcome-driven service to the people of Anambra South.”
“With his remarkable record of philanthropy and years of supporting political candidates across various levels — from the presidency to governorship and legislative positions — it is clear that Barr. Donald Chidi Amamgbo understands what true representation entails. His candidature offers the people of Anambra South a unique opportunity for rapid progress and development,” he added.
Reiterating the Afamation Movement’s commitment to the ADC candidate, Hon. Ezenwafor stated: “Our belief is simple — political leadership is about using one’s position and influence to transform lives positively. Barr. Amamgbo embodies this vision, and as our adopted candidate, we are fully mobilized to ensure his resounding victory at the polls.”
The endorsement, which took place last week, was accepted by the members of the movement across the senatorial district and has been described as a major boost for Barr. Amamgbo’s senatorial ambition, further solidifying his standing as a leading contender for the Anambra South Senate seat.
