The leadership of the All Progressives Congress,(APC) has denied some reports making the rounds that it has prepared a list of those who will be elected into executive positions of the party in the state.
Unconfirmed reports had spread around the state like a wild fire this week, where it was claimed that a list of some ‘endorsed members’ had been drawn preparatory to the state congress of the party.
But APC in reaction faulted the rumours that it was planning to hold a state congress, describing the rumors as a “market square gossip” .
In a statement by the publicity secretary of the APC, Abia, Comrade Benedict Godson which was issued today (Saturday), the party urged its teeming members and supporters to disregard the reports which according to the party, emanated from the enemies of the broom party.
The party further made it clear that no list has been drawn, even as it emphasised that every genuine information about activities in the party emanates from the national and state leadership and not from junk sources.
The statement read, “the leadership of APC ably led by the State Chairman, Hon Donatus Nwankpa calls on every member of our great party to treat that deceitful information as mere market square gossip with zero grain of truth in it.
Everybody should wait for genuine information from the party’s leadership in the state and national levels”, Godson maintained.
