According to Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo, Nigeria and Kuwait have inked a bilateral air services agreement (BASA).
According to a statement from the minister’s media assistant, Tunde Moshood, the agreement was formalized during the current COP28 in Dubai, demonstrating a commitment to promoting international cooperation in the field of aviation.

However, Moshood clarified that the agreement was signed in Saudi Arabia following approval by both parties. “The agreement marks a pivotal moment in the diplomatic relations between Nigeria and Kuwait, opening avenues for enhanced connectivity and economic cooperation.

The Minister Festus Keyamo, expressed optimism about the prospects of this agreement, emphasizing its potential to boost trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges between Nigeria and Kuwait.

“My team and I will continue the negotiations of different routes with different countries that are present here for this annual event of ICAO till later in the week.”
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) gave its approval for both countries to sign the agreement on September 7, 2023.
