Great men and women are usually rare particularly now, the age of digitalization. Engr Charles C. Ugwu is ranked among the great men and women who have distinguished themselves in various fields of life.
An accomplished engineer who worked assiduously to meritoriously climb the jagged steps and phases of life, ultimately measuring effectively as a happily married man blessed with children.
Enterprising, ingenious and disciplined, Ugwu is a man of many parts. An illustrious industrialist, Ugwu amazingly reached the apogee of his career when he emerged the chairman of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN).
A visionary leader who is poised for the growth and development of his people, thus, he was the PDP governorship candidate in Imo State in the 2007 election. In view of his huge contributions to commerce, trade and industry, he was made a minister in that direction. And just in the current circumstances, he hashtag been the chairman, Imo State PDP, thus, he is called the stabilizer and central pillar of the major opposition party in the state.
Ugwu is simple, straight forward and soft spoken. He promotes constitutionalism and encourages democratic processes.
As the Great Engineer of our time turns 81 today, we, the Imo PDP Critical Stakeholders, wish you a resounding happy birthday and more fruitful years ahead.
