Meghan Markle and Prince Harry accepted a multi-million-dollar Netflix deal. The co-CEO of the giant streaming service company, Reed Hastings, recently shared his thought and opinions on the couple’s acceptance. According to Hastings, the couple had multiple offers and had done thorough research before deciding on the huge Netflix deal. This is something that Reed has said he thinks is the best decision the couple could make, for both Netflix and themselves. “They’re smart – they were shopping it around across all of the major companies, and I think we really put together the best complete package, and we’re going to do a wide range of entertainment with them,” he said in a CNBC interview.

Hastings also shared a lot of excitement over his partnership with Meghan and Harry, saying that it was going to be “epic” having them at Netflix. “It’s gonna be epic entertainment – so excited about that deal,” he said. The couple will be doing documentaries, docu-series, feature films, scripted shows and children’s programming exclusive for Netflix, something which Hastings believes will be “some of the most-viewed content next year”.

Earlier this year, the couple revealed that they will be denouncing their royal responsibilities and seeking financial independence from the royal family. This meant that the couple had to give up their income, which at the time was funded by taxpayers. The Duke and Duchess subsequently promised to pay back all the money they used to renovate their home, the Frogmore Cottage. According to their spokesperson, the money given back to the taxpayers fully covered all of the renovation costs.
