An inspirational yet educating book for youths, ‘Rhythms of Agony’ have been lunched in Awka, Anambra State capital.

The author, Chukwunonso Jephtha Nwankwo

Who spoke to newsmen about what inspired him to write the book said “one of the reason that gave birth to this book was that I found myself in a society that is morally decaying and not structured. So there is nothing I can do to help them situation but to contribute my quota through writing, like the popular writer Achebe said ” writing does not only depend scribbling on text but on a workable solution to some challenges in the society”. That alone prompted me to air my view.

Speaking about the book, he noted that the book “rhythms of Agony” is centred on an average Nigerian graduate in the society today with no job and who is faced with different options to delve into the wrong part and that alone shattered his dreams. John after graduating from one of the Nigerian universities and having struggled to make ends meet went into the wrong part and that onerous decision landed him into incurable madness which means that the end of any negative part is destruction.

The books also set to redirect and correct the youths from delving into wrong part or get ‘rich quick syndrome’. So you have to calm down as a youth and plan your life in a way that we beneficial to yourself and the society in general”.

Also speaking, Alfred Ajayi, an Awka based journalist explained that the book Rhythms of Agony is a well written book that tend to convey serious message from the author to the society especially the youths. The book presents the Agony of an average Nigerian who despite going through the thick and thin of education at the higher learning still comes out and have the ambitions and hope of doing inmmsomething manfully shattered.

“So I think the author succeeded in grilling those realities of our today in Nigeria, together in a very good written way. I commend him, already he has written three books, it’s not easy, some of us have tried to write one but couldn’t finish it. So I really commend him and wish him more”.

Adding, one of the attendees, Madu Gloria, commending the author of his well penned down story, said she feels happy and honoured being present at the book lunch. While she maintained that the book will help to encourage the youths in their various life endeavours.

Miss Gloria however, called on the youths to to look out to their destinies, avoid peer group pressure and seek the face of God for direction of purpose in everything they are doing.
