Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has expressed his disappointment with the recent conducts of executive Chairman of Aba South LGA, Hon. Clinton Ebere and his Deputy, Hon. Princess Nwobilo in office.
The Governor made the sad expression while reacting to a raging media war between the Chairman and his deputy, over allegations of sexual harassment tabled by Hon. Nwobilo against the Chairman, Clinton Ebere.
The Governor, who was still away on foreign trip, spoke through the Chief of Staff to his office, Dr. Anthony Agbazuere calling for immediate end to the disgraceful claims and counter claims, reminding the LG top shots that they were not elected into office to fan the embers of rancor.
Ikpeazu further cautioned the Aba South LGA bigwigs to face their duties of developing the council as well as improving the welfare of the people, failure which elected councilors in the LGA may be mandated to swing into action.
Meanwhile, a source at Aba South headquarters who spoke under anonymity told News Echo that official activities in the LGA had been brought to a halt in the last few weeks, caused by the war between the Chairman and his deputy.
Many files, according to the Aba South official, had been left unattended, as the Chairman and his deputy remained sworn enemies. The source concluded that Nwobilo was planning to spill more beans about her Chairman but has now deciding to suspend it following Governor Ikpeazu’s counsel to them.
