Hon. Nnenna Elendu Ukeje, the former House of Representatives member from Abia State has expressed shock at the attack on her family house, where her house and two cars were burnt by unknown hoodlums.
Unknown arsonists had on Tuesday, set the Alayi country home of Ukeje who represented Bende federal constituency from 2007 to 2019, ablaze, burning the interior part of the house and also burning two posh cars parked inside the compound.
But reacting to the attack, a close aide to Ukeje who spoke under anonymity condemned the development, noting that the female politician was yet to understand why her home was attacked.
The aide described the attack as “wicked and callous because Hon Ukeje is a woman of peace who has uplifted many of her constituents during her days at the National Assembly even up till date.”
Meanwhile, some indigenes of Alayi in Bende LGA of Abia where the attack took place have expressed surprise at development.
The natives who did not give their names because of personal reasons, said Alayi was never known for violence.
The Police Public Relations Officer of Abia State Command, Geoffrey Ogbonna could not be reached to comment on the matter.
