… Guns, stolen car recovered from suspected criminals
A 34-year-old Francis William, who is a dismissed Police officer has been nabbed by the Abia State Police Command for vandalizing and stealing an electricty transformer components in Aba, Aba State. He was arrested by the men of Ndiegoro Divisional Police headquarters, while dressed in a Police camouflage attire and holding a fake arrested warrant card.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Abia State Command, ASP Maureen Chioma Chinaka who briefed the press on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, while parading some suspected criminals and recovered items, said the Police Command made tremendous achievements against criminals from September, 2023 till date, under the watch of the CP.
She said that one Chukwuemeka London, a male aged 35, was arrested on September 20 at Ugwunagbo, for illegal possession of one locally made short single -barrel gun, saying that the case has been transferred to the CID Umuahia for further investigation.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect was in possession of two locally fabricated single-barrel pistols and three cartridges. Moreover, it was discovered that the suspect had stolen ATM cards belonging to Zenith and UBA banks from a victim during his previous criminal acts.
