Hurray the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ is the reason for the season. The mother of our Saviour was engaged to Joseph just like a husband and wife are engaged for recreation. However before they were married, she found out that she was going to have a baby by the Holy Spirit. And Joseph being a righteous man did not want to disgrace Mary publicly, so he made plans to break the engagement privately.
While he was thinking about this, an Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said to him, “Do not be afraid to take Mary to be your wife . For it is by the Holy Spirit that she has conceived. She will have a son, and you will name him Jesus- because he will save his people from their sins”. Alleluia!!! See what was told to Joseph, the foster father of Jesus, ‘You will name him Jesus- because he will save his people from their sins. This is exactly why Jesus came on earth to save us, the sinners.
Remember before this, the birth of Jesus had been announced that “A virgin will become pregnant and shall have a son and he will be named EMMANUEL”, meaning God is with us’. So when Joseph woke up, he married Mary, in obedience to the word of God, as the Angel of the Lord had told him. But he had no sexual knowledge of her before she gave birth to her son. And Joseph named him Jesus.
Jesus was born in the town of Bethlehem in Judea- during the time when Herod was King. Some men who studied the stars came from the East to Jerusalem and asked “Where is the baby born to be king of the Jews? We saw his star when it came up in the East and we came to worship him. When king Herod heard about this, he was very upset and so was everyone else in Jerusalem. Herod called together all the Chief Priests and the teachers of the law and asked them, where will the Messiah be born. And they answered, in the town of Bethlehem in Judea, for this is what the prophet wrote.
Therefore whatever is written upon us this 2022 will positively come to pass in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Herod expected the birth of Jesus to take place in the household of the rich and the highly placed in the society, but no, he made it in a poor carpenter’s house. My friends, it doesn’t matter where and how one is born, what matters is the destiny with every human being. Ordinarily, people would have expected to see the birth of the world’s Saviour in a President or Governor’s mansion, but that is not the way our God operates, God associates himself with the humble at heart, he has no business with the proud.
Herod was disappointed when he knew that the birth of Jesus took place in a small town of Bethlehem in the land of Judea. So despite all the secret meetings he had with the visitors from the East to find out from them the exact time the star had appeared, he did not succeed in his evil intentions to destroy Jesus. He said to them, “Go and make a careful search for the child and when you find him, let me know so that l too may go and worship him. Oh, behold the heart of men full of deceit. He was saying something with his mouth but having another thing in mind. He knew very well that he wanted to kill the little Jesus but he forgot that there’s a Supreme Being that is in-charge of our spirit, soul and body, Odogwu Akataga!!!.
In this year 2022, every secret evil friends, colleagues or even brothers, may God expose them in Jesus Mighty Name. This year is our year of Prayerfulness, pray more and expect uncommon miracles that come from God alone. Every plans of the enemies to put us to shame shall scatter in Jesus name, Amen.
As we begin this year with joy and happiness, so shall it end in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. See you next week for more spiritual encounter.
