The Interim Management Committee Chairman of Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, Hon. Emma Mazi, has said that there is relative peace and security in the locality.
Mazi who stated this on a telephone chat with our reporter, on Thursday, added that Oguta people are peace- loving, productive, reasonable and cordial, hence they abhor crime as they go about their normal activities.
The Oguta local government boss, said he was happy that the people of Oguta are law- abiding who have been supportive to the shared prosperity administration of governor Uzodimma, promising to sustain good governance and effective security of lives and properties at the area to promote development.
He disclosed that some armed robbers who terrorized the locality have been killed by the military and community vigilante, while some who could not escape with gun injuries, were apprehended and taken to police Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Owerri for prosecution, adding that the entire Oguta people were jubilating as the armed robbers and bandits who terrorise them on daily basis, leaving them restless, were rid of by the security operatives. He commended the gallantry of the military and the community vigilante in maintaining peace, orderliness and security.
