Two days after the Presidential posters of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu were pasted on parts of Umuahia, Abia State by unknown persons, the media aide to the Senate Chief Whip has said that Kalu is not aware of them.
Some strategic centres in Umuahia, the Abia State capital were on Monday, adorned with the posters written, “Vote Dr. Uzor Kalu for president, a new Nigeria is here”.
On the posters, Orji Uzor Kalu was tipped as the man with the capacity to salvage Nigeria from collapse.
However, the media assistant to the Senator, Maduka Okoro in a reaction on Wednesday in Umuahia made it clear that the Senate Chief Whip was not behind the posters, explaining that his principal was totally concentrated in delivery of democracy dividends to Abia North constituents.
According to Okoro, “We did not paste posters of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu anywhere. We have not contemplated on that and we have not made any categorical statement.”
He continued, “We are busy trying to create history for our people by renovating schools, building roads, and other projects so that our people can enjoy dividends of democracy.” Okoro suggested that those who pasted the said posters may have done so out of their love for Kalu or were operating with some other negative intentions.
