Imo State Government has set up a committee saddled with the responsibility of implementing the white paper of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into land use and other related matters
According to a release made available to News Echo, the committee which is to be chaired by the commissioner for lands and physical planning was set up during the state executive council meeting of Wednesday, which was presided over by the governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma.
Other members of the committee according to the release were; the commissioner for housing as secretary, while the commissioner for works, the General Manager, ENTRACO, the General Manager OCDA and others approved by EXCO.
The release said, “The Committee is charged with the responsibility of full and total implementation of all aspects of the Whitepaper on lands and other related matters expeditiously”.
Briefing the government House press at the end of the EXCO meeting commissioner for information and strategy Hon. Declan Emelumba, informed that the governor announced further minor cabinet reshuffle of members of Executive Council.
He said in the new adjustment, the present commissioner for entrepreneurship and skills acquisition, Hon. Noble Atulegwu moves over to ministry of lands and physical planning. The commissioner for lands and physical planning, Barr. Enyinnaya Onuegbu superintends the Ministry of Power, while the Hon. Commissioner for Power, Chief Iyke Umeh moves to ministry of entrepreneurship and skills acquisition.
Throwing more light on the essence of the reshuffle, commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the state, Barr. C. O. C. Akaolisa said the governor deemed it necessary to carry out the exercise as a way of ensuring the programmes and policies of the administration moves on smoothly and that no commissioner is removed, rather it is an attempt to put the right pegs in the right holes.
