A medical research group, operating under the aegis of Iwuanyanwu National Ambulance, has advised the federal government of Nigeria not to administer any coronavirus vaccine produced abroad on Nigerians without certification by Nigerian medical scientists.
This advice was handed out on behalf of the group by its chairman, Engr. E.C Iwuanyanwu, while addressing newsmen at his Glass House office in Owerri, Imo State capital on Monday, January 25.

The elder statesman advised the government to be careful in selecting the vaccine to be administered on Nigerians as prevention for the virus, reminding the government that the Covid virus has been found to mutate and change form, meaning that a vaccine that may be effective for the first type of the virus may not be effective for the second type, which have been proven to be more deadly.
Iwuanyanwu on behalf of the group made it clear that lockdown is not the solution to Covid 19 pandemic which he said has proven not to be a very short term challenge.

He said the best approach is to allow all institutions to run their full courses, but adhering strictly to the COVID-19 preventive measures and guidelines as issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
He also released some biological and local remedies as recommended by the Iwuanyanwu National Ambulance.
The biological remedies include; daily intake of Vitamin C, D and Zink, while the local remedies include taking hot cup of lemon, mixed with ginger and lime before bed every night. Also steaming and inhaling some herbal leaves such as; lemon grass, together with mango leaves, lean leaves (dogonyaro) and guava leaves, in the morning and repeated at night if desired.

He however commended the president and leaders of government at different levels for their effort in preventing and containing the virus.
“On behalf of the board of trustees of Iwuanyanwu National Ambulance in the six geo-political zones in Nigeria, I wish to congratulate the president Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, the governors of the 36 states and FCT Minister, Abuja and all stakeholders in the health sector, on their efforts towards containing the spread of the virus in the country.
“COVID-19 is no doubt the worst pandemic mankind has witnessed in recent time. We wish to inform all Nigerians that COVID-19 is real, dangerous and fatal”.
