To boost sufficiency food production especially birds in Imo State, poultry farmers have been given chicks, feeds and food nutrients by Asia Africa Corporation (AAC).

The birds, feeds and organic food were given to the farmers who went through a training/seminar organized by AAC for three months through a low interest loan disbursed by Microfinance Bank in Mbaitolu having liaised with AAC.

The program took place at Christ Embassy Event Hall, Owerri, on Tuesday, with over 40 trained poultry farmers benefitting. Each farmer got 102 chicks with 5 extra chicks, a bag of feed and two packs of nutritious food (Nano Product).

Stating that the loan would be repaid in 3 months time after the farmer must have had 2 to 3 turn-overs from the day of receipt, Director, Home Affairs and Diaspora of AAC, Okorie Chibuzo, noted that the gesture was geared to help revolutionize poultry agriculture in Nigeria.

“And we intend to do it through our product, Nano Product. We intend to help farmers to take care of their birds within 5 weeks and within that 5 weeks, you start from day one to give your birds the Nano Nutrient which is naturally sourced”, he maintained.

Okorie added that the Nano Product is a natural food which gives immunity to birds, making them grow strongly, healthy and mature within 5 weeks and would be old enough to be sold even on low price affordable to all persons, hinting that AAC introduced Nano Product to stop farmers from giving drugs to birds as drugs contain chemicals which he emphasised are harmful to the animals, as well as slow poultry business.

Okorie who urged the poultry farmers to strictly follow instructions in order to meet up in 3 months, as well as maximize huge profit, hailed the National Coordinator of AAC for making the program a huge success.

Speaking earlier, one of the facilitators of the program, Rev. Dr. Bethel Chinaka Mbata, affirmed that AAC is committed to make a big difference in poultry farming by way of using nutritious food (organic or natural product) to feed birds as to boost their immune, as well as quicken their maturity, stressing that the poultry farmers were also taught on how to handle birds without much casualty.

Commending the benefactors over the feat, Group Pastor, Central Church Group 1, Christ Embassy, Owerri, Pastor Comfort Amaenkhienan, advised the beneficiaries to trade diligently while being honest to thrive in poultry farming.

Expressing gratitude to AAC and Microfinance Bank, Mbaitolu Branch, for evenly encouraging them with the birds, feeds and organic food, the beneficiaries, Pastor Dr. Ben Odom and Pastor Judith Onuka, promised that they would follow instructions given to them to rear the birds without much casualty with a view to repaying the loan, as well as maximizing huge profit.
